Dr. Winston Hector Burton has been an educationist for most part of his life. He began his illustrious teaching career in 1977 and rose to many administrative posts culminating in being the Vice Principal of the American International School in Dubai for 8 years.

He focused on student-centered learning and brought in many innovative reforms to the table. After successfully conducting two groups of teaching and mentoring TESOL certification courses, having partnered with INTESOL  Worldwide, he started  a pilot programme at the American International School in Dubai for Grade 3 in English, Math, and Science. Together with the 3 classroom teachers (who had also done the TESOL course), they revolutionized their teaching methods. Soon everyone noticed a big difference in the students. Even the weaker students began to improve. Parents were surprised at the progress of their children who also showed eagerness to attend school even if they were sick.

Dr. Burton gave up his Vice Principal post to begin his TESOL journey as CEO and  Founder of Burton Academy (now Winston Burton Academy). Unfortunately, thereafter, he had to relocate to Canada on family matters, but always pursued with education.

He conducted tutoring classes for English and Math, taught Business English to corporate personnel, mentored and prepared adults for Language Testing systems like IELTS and CELPIP. Dr. Burton has now trained, how to cope with and teach students with special needs, for about a year at the Move to Learn Global School in Japan.
